Workshop AI for architects and interior designers

 The workshop will take place online on November 5, 2024.

The workshop on using AI in architectural design will focus on harnessing cutting-edge text-to-text and text-to-image applications. The goal is to introduce participants to how AI can streamline creative processes, from generating conceptual ideas to visualizing architectural forms. Attendees will learn how to leverage AI tools to enhance design thinking, automate repetitive tasks, and explore novel forms of creativity. By the end of the workshop, participants will have hands-on experience with AI platforms, enabling them to quickly generate design narratives, draft sketches, and create detailed visualizations from simple textual inputs. The workshop aims to equip architects and students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to integrate AI technologies into their design workflow.

Key objectives:

1. Introduce AI tools and their role in modern architectural design.
2. Demonstrate the potential of AI for rapid ideation, text-based design generation, and visual output.
3. Provide practical training on using AI applications to produce conceptual sketches and visuals from text descriptions.
4. Discuss ethical considerations and the future role of AI in architecture.
5. Customizing the AI design tools according to the architect’s philosophical construct and vision

Workshop Schedule :

• Introduction to AI in architecture (lecture & discussion)
• Overview of text-to-text and text-to-image tools
• Live demonstrations: Generating architectural ideas from text prompts
• Hands-on session: Participants create their own designs
• Review of generated designs, group discussion on applications
• Closing remarks, Q&A, future trends in AI-assisted architecture

Samer El Sayary is an assistant professor of Architecture, researcher, and award-winning architect with a passion for Outer space architecture.
Graduated in 2001 valedictorian with honours, top of his class, and through the years he received many national and international awards (48 awards and prizes till the year 2024) from 4 different continents. Dr. El Sayary was invited as a guest speaker to deliver public talks in numerous venues such as AIAA LA/LV (American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) 2020, Forbes middle east magazine, TEDx BAU 2016, GoLive TV channel, IdeaXme UK 2021, Digital futures 2021, Crew central Asia 2021, among others. In addition to being invited as a Keynote speaker at several conferences, he made TV interviews in 7 different countries. Also Published several Scientific papers including Q1 Journals and reputable International Conferences after turning his awards into scientific research. He also taught numerous workshops in 13 different countries with over 10,000 trainees during the last 24 years
